Theresa Wright is a nationally recognized dietitian and nutritionist, and a pioneer in the field of Food Addiction. She was among the first nutrition experts to identify untreated food addiction as the hidden cause behind the struggles millions face with food and weight.
As the founder of Renaissance Nutrition Center Inc., Theresa developed a groundbreaking, gentle, sensible, and evidence-based recovery program from self-destructive eating that has been transforming lives for over 30 years. She tailors her program to meet each client’s unique needs.
Theresa is a sought-after speaker at conferences, workshops, and retreats. She co-wrote the chapter “From the Front Lines” on Food Addiction symptoms for Food and Addiction: A Comprehensive Handbook, the first comprehensive collection of academic literature on food addiction, edited by Kelly Brownell and Mark S. Gold.
In addition to her professional publications, Theresa has outlined her revolutionary food plan for a broader audience in her books, The Sane Food Solution: Transform Your Relationship with Food and Change Your Life and Your Personal Food Plan Guide. She has also authored three volumes of the cookbook Delicious Recovery.
Theresa was named one of Today’s Dietitian Magazine’s “10 Incredible Registered Dietitians Who Are Making a Difference”. She was invited to contribute to the Overeaters Anonymous food plan guide, Dignity of Choice, and wrote an appendix for OA’s Beloved Brown Book.
The European Certification Board for Prevention and Addictions Counselling has awarded Theresa the title of Clinical Supervisor, and INFACT has also named her a Clinical Supervisor for Food Addiction Professionals.
Theresa holds BS and MS degrees in Nutrition Science from Drexel University, and is both a Registered Dietitian and a Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist.
